Okay, so i have watched the movie and now i have read the book. A bit backwards i know.
Safe Haven is written by Nicholas Sparks who for those who don't already
know, is the same author who wrote The Notebook. Therefore, you know
already that this book is a tearjerker that will pull on your heart
strings.
I am a huge fan of The Notebook and therefore, i was not convinced that
Safe Haven could live up to it ... but i was not left disappointed.
I will try not to spoil the story but it is basically about a big town
girl with a mysterious past who escapes to a small seaside town in the
United States. She of course meets a guy (who is a widow) and the story
revolves around that relationship and the secret that she is running
from but continues to haunt her.
It is a fantastic read but do not forget your tissues!!
If you are not into your books and would prefer to catch the film instead - it is out on DVD/Blu-Ray soon, if not already!!
